Mischa appears in the current issue of LADYGUNN magazine with the most in-depth interview we’ve read from her in quite a while. It’s a great read with some beautiful photos.

On what makes Mischa happy:
“I would have to say music. Music and books. My vinyl collection is imperative to my happiness.”

On the last movie that made Mischa cry:
“The last film I cried in was Harry Potter when Dumbledore died. That’s the kind of thing where I get attached to these characters.”

On the kind of people Mischa is drawn to in her personal life:
“Characters. People who are strong and independent. A little off-beat.”

On the projects Mischa is currently working on:
“It’s strange. Everyone keeps asking me about what I’m working on right now. But it’s quite the opposite. It’s about what projects I’m turning down, which identifies me as the actor I want to be. I’m in this funny phase in my career, where it’s super important to not do a project unless I’m super passionate about it. Because what you choose to take is how people are going to view you. It is hard, though. The way you want to go isn’t necessarily the way you get to go as an actor. This industry is run by fear. When you go too long without working, you have people hassling you. The jobs I choose to do will form who I am.”

On Mischa returning to television:
“Yes, for the right role. Although I’m more interested in guest star roles…During The OC, I was so young, it’s really a shame how these adults in my life and the media were able to portray me. So yes, now that I am adult and know who I am, I would return to television for the right role. But I definitely would keep more control on the environment. Television has been good to me, but it’s so overly publicized.

The full interview is available in the current issue of LADYGUNN. Stockists are available here. Amongst conversation including Mischa’s handbag collection (, her thoughts on Kindle, Mischa’s childhood crush, and her life/future in general, Mischa also goes on to talk more extensively about the topics listed above.

The 4th question means she’s not doing anything right now :( She could just say it instead of going around it but whatever.

  2. April says:

    Love Ladygunn, love Mischa!!

Mischa is doing alot actually, her new handbag collection is just out, shes working on a fashion line and has several movies shes just wrapped filming and still shooting more.

Check out IMDB to see what she has approaching.

Ahh, as delusional as always! So basically, she’s turning down parts because she wants to be an unemployed actress. Or she wants to be known as an actress who makes bad choice in the roles she takes, or she’s a really bad actress in really bad low-budget films. Oh and low-budget doesn’t mean independent.

Yeah, I’m a big Mischa fan, but her acting career doesnt seem like it’s gonna take off. It’s good she is setting her standards a little higher, but if she wants to be known as an actress, and wants people to take her quotes about film being her passion seriously, then she needs to step it up. Most of the films on her IMDB list aren’t happening. Which isn’t her fault, but she seems to choose films that go nowhere. She’s done one film this year, just one, and it took about two weeks to shoot. That is not wrapping up several projects, just one. I’m glad for her fashion success and whatnot, but I am a fan of her for her film, not fashion lol.

i really love Mischa since the OC but now i ‘m a little bit bored because (in my opinion) juste after The OC she could have a GREAT career in the Film Industry but she make wrong choices with some films and his fashion style isn’t “IN” in comparison with The OC years … so productors maybe think she’s not bankable … BUT his bag line is AMAZING !!!!

  7. M says:

PS: i really love mischa on LadyGuun pictures

All it takes is one good role. There is no point doing crap films etc. The haters would give their right arm to have her opportunities. She is an excellent actress. Low budget and independant Kimm? Black Swan was low budget and independant (for a while anyway).

  9. Tete says:

I am loving everything that Mischa does, independent movies or no

  10. Luca says:

Well said CALEB, i adore Mischa but i really don´t get what she´s doing now, ok, the handbag collection, but a really good movie?? i don´t see it, even if it´s independent, i haven´t seen a good movie of her… what she has to do first is a very good makeover, dress to impress and take of her “intelectual thoughts” , she´s smart but she has to stop talking about how much she reads and stuff.

I LOVE Mischa – and I love that she is her own person. She doesn’t care about what anyone else says or what anyone thinks. It would be a privilege to sit down with her and hear what she has to say about the industry and her views on how it runs. She seems to have a deep/strong personality and that is what makes her beautiful. Everyone is commenting on how she is not working on anything right now – but have you every taken the time to see what characters she has portrayed in the past 5 years? They are all intense and tough. Even if she is only shooting for 2 weeks, she is taking on characters most household names have never touched. Acting is an art to Mischa, not a way to make money. I admire her so much.
